Chapter 36 - Northwest Indiana
~ Creaky Knees and Rusty Keys ~
ON THE AIR!
Chapter 36 on Packet!
On Feb. 3, 2010, I activated club call W9EGQ on 2m packet radio, using 145.09 MHz. You can connect
to the mailbox at W9EGQ-1 or digipeat via QCWA36. This is standard 1200 baud packet for now, but I can
enable 9600 baud too (I think) if there is interest in that. The station consists of a Kantronics
KPC-9612 TNC, Icom IC-208H running 55w, and a Hustler G-6 ground plane at about 50 ft. So dust off
that old TNC in your closet, or learn about using digital modes with a sound card.
THANKS to Chapter 36 members George K9WWT and Tom W8FIB, with the help of
their friend John NA9U, who activated our club call sign K9QCW for the
CW Sweepstakes on November 7th-8th. THANKS also to Dan W9DWS for hosting this event
from his W9SAL Tower Complex. CLICK
