You have brought back great memories of Valpo Tech. Yes, I graduated from there in 1956 and the education and knowledge gained there set me on a wonderful career. My first job out of school was in the sales department with Amphenol Electronics in Chicago. Then, I was an engineer with Raytheon on the Hawk Missile System in Massachusetts and then an engineering job with Martin Denver on the Titan ICBM project. Was also the sales manager at R.L. Drake for 4 years. I spent the rest of my career with Motorola Semiconductor, headquartered in Phoenix. Retired from there as Advertising Manager. I now own Alpha Delta Communications, a name I took from the phonetics of my call sign, W8AD. It was a part time "hobby business" that is now full time. So, what does all this have to do with Valpo Tech? it is that the great education there allowed me to have a wonderful career in electronics, with equal or better footing with other EEs or MSEEs. Gene Wiggins was one of my instructors then, as well as Cloid Patton and Gene Bullis. Great guys! I did operate W9SAL in those days. I remember we had a Heathkit 100 watt AM/CW transmitter that seemed like it weighed a ton, as was typical then. Enjoyed many an hour sitting at that station. My own call then was W9JTN. I'm originally from Peoria, IL and got the call in 1950 when I was a freshman in high school. We'll stay in touch and thank you for contacting me! 73, Don, W8AD, Alpha Delta Alpha Delta Communications, Inc. WEB
